EMAIL TROUBLE? 📬

If you signed up for emails but haven’t seen anything from us, or you used to get our emails but haven’t seen them lately, it’s likely your email provider filtered them into Spam, Junk, or Promotions. Here’s how to fix it!

 

📌 UNIVERSAL INSTRUCTIONS (detailed steps for top email providers further down)

Search your email for: playcafeyakima.com

Then:

  • Open the newest email
  • Mark it “Not Spam” or “Not Junk”
  • Move it to your Primary inbox (especially in Gmail)
  • Add us to your contacts (see below)

This helps your email provider recognize that messages from playcafeyakima.com are safe and wanted.

 

❓ WHY IT’S HAPPENING: We recently switched email providers. Our messages now come directly from playcafeyakima.com, which is great long-term—but email services think we’re a brand-new sender blasting 5,000+ people. That looks suspicious to them. Previously, our emails came from Square Marketing, which used a randomized, already-trusted sender address.

 

After following these steps, keep opening our emails and clicking the links inside — this ensures that you (and other Play/Cafe families) keep getting them! And sometimes we send special offers specifically to people who frequently open our emails!


📧 GMAIL (desktop + mobile):

  • Check the Promotions or Spam tab
  • On desktop, drag the message to the Primary tab
    • When prompted with “Do this for future messages from this mailing list?”, click Yes
  • Hover or tap the sender’s name > Add to Contacts
  • To create a filter (desktop only):
    • Click the gear icon (⚙️) in the upper right
    • Select See all settings
    • Go to Filters and Blocked Addresses (Scroll to Bottom) > Create a new filter
    • In the “From” field, type playcafeyakima.com
    • Click Create filter, then check:
      • ✅ Never send to Spam
      • ✅ Categorize as Primary
      • ✅ Always mark as important

 

📬 YAHOO MAIL:

  • Open the email from us
  • Click the sender’s name or email > Add to Contacts
  • If the message is in Spam, click Not Spam to move it to your Inbox- Add us to contacts:
    • Open the email > Tap sender’s name > Add to Contacts

 

📥 OUTLOOK / HOTMAIL / MSN / LIVE:

  • Click the gear icon (⚙️) in the top right > Mail > Junk Email
  • Under Safe senders and domains, click + Add safe sender
  • Enter playcafeyakima.com > Click OK

 

🍏 APPLE MAIL / iCLOUD:

  • Open the email
  • Click or tap sender name > Add to Contacts or Add to VIP
  • If it’s in Junk, move it to Inbox

 

📨 AOL:

On web:

  • Open an email from us
  • Click the three dots (More) in the upper-right toolbar
  • Select Add Sender to Contacts
  • If the email is in Spam, click Not Spam to move it to your Inbox

On mobile app:

  • Open the email
  • Tap the sender’s name or email address
  • Tap Add Contact (if available)
  • If it’s in Spam, move it to Inbox or mark it Not Spam

 

🌐 COMCAST / XFINITY:

  • Add @playcafeyakima.com to your contacts or address book
  • Open the email and mark as “Not Spam” if needed

 

🔐 PROTONMAIL:

  • Click Settings (⚙️) > Filters > Add Filter
  • Choose Whitelist > Add @playcafeyakima.com
